These people in Austin don't get enough rain I guess. Since I have been here it has been mostly sunny with a fair amount of heat and humidity. No problem for me...that year in Baja conditioned me to weather misery, although I could always go for a dip if I felt the urge. But back to the lack of water around here. I know rain is a rarity, because it has been coming down for the past twenty-four hours and it seems that is all anyone can talk about. I can't even switch on the Animal Planet without some scrolling message about low water crossings and flash flood warnings. I mean who cares...all you have to do is dog paddle your way through it. Finally, even gpa got tired of just looking at rain through the window, so at my urging (you know what I mean...gotta pee), he organized a trek this morning down to Barton Creek ( of course there usually is no water in it) to see what the weather had wrought. OMG! it was nice.
Cousin Ruby tried to convince me to completely submerge myself to retrieve rocks from the bottom, but I didn't think that would be very good for my pearly whites. Loli, the cousin that kinda has a crush on me, wasn't all that keen at first to go hiking in the rain. Gpa...the sucker, picked her up and carried her the whole way when she tried to bail on us. I thought she would have done anything to hang out with me, but rainfall must seem pretty weird to her. The down side to all of this is that Ruby and I are still in the garage drying out before we can come back in the house and lounge on the furniture. I don't know where Loli is off to.
